Dear Reasonable Republicans…

Dear Reasonable Republicans,

We are sure this must be a dichotomous time for you. You are happy that you have finally taken back control of the country, and saved it from the destructive direction in which it was heading. But some of you might also be growing concerned that the party you support may no longer stand for what you once thought it had.

We know that most of you consider yourself conservative because you believe in smaller government, responsible fiscal policy, the right to bear arms, lower taxes, and less intrusive government regulation.

So are we on the right track now? Are the Executive Orders being signed by President Trump better than those signed by President Obama because they are in line with your ideology and reverse the destructive policies created by the previous administration? Is that actually smaller government, or is it more of the same?

You might be coming to the realization that the Republican Party no longer represents sound fiscal policy. A budget proposal that results in a $10 trillion increase to the national debt over the next decade. The Affordable Care Act is going to be replaced with another state-sponsored program that will provide you with as little choice as you have now. These are not examples of fiscal responsibility. You also know that penalizing companies for importing goods will have a trickle down effect that will hurt you more than any proposed tax cuts the new administration offers.

Today, we are offering a better way. The Libertarian Party wants the same things you do, but realizes we live in a different world and economy than we did 50 years ago. If you want smaller government, a business environment that allows small companies to thrive, true freedom for your families and the ability to live your lives without being told what to do and how to do it; consider joining the party of true fiscal responsibility, and true constitutional respect. Check us out. You might be surprised by what you find.
